Anne K. Innis, a PhD graduate from Education, Culture, Society, has been named the new Director of Professional Education. Anne has a passion for social justice, and her training and passion will see Professional Development focus on high-impact instruction and program growth.
Anne K. Innis, ECS Graduate to Become Director
Dr. Anne K. Innis stepped into the role of Director of Professional Education in December 2020. Anne joins the team with over a decade of experience in K-16 education as both an administrator and a teacher. Anne holds a PhD in Education, Culture, and Society from the University of Utah, with an emphasis on curriculum and culture. Her dissertation study and academic writing focus on decolonizing curriculum and instruction.
Anne is an advocate for justice-oriented curriculum and brings to Professional Education a focus on program growth and high-impact instruction. Anne's goal in her new position is to expand access to high-quality skills-based training designed to meet the needs of emerging markets.
Originally from rural Pennsylvania, Anne is an aspiring urban farmer, avid reader, lover of the Oregon coast, and wholly unashamed of her love of bluegrass music. She enjoys discussing heirloom tomato varieties, banjo technique, and increasing representation in the professional sphere.
